Adult Learning
Parents in our program have a chance to work on improving their skills or studying for a GED while their children are with a childcare provider in the next room. They can concentrate on their own studying when they know their children are in a safe environment learning skills that will make them more prepared for school while having fun at the same time.
Parent Education
Being a parent isn't always easy. This is a time for parents to come together with the Family Literacy Instructor to discuss and/or explore any issues they might like to know more about or concerns they might have involving parenting. Theses issues might include topics like...
- how to be your child's first and most important teacher
- nutrition
- safety
- health
- homework
- addiction
- abuse
- bullying
- discipline
- and more...
Parent and Child Together Time (PACT)
During PACT Time parents and children at TRLC play, do crafts, or read together. This is a time for parent/child interaction and bonding while modeling and teaching positive skills in a safe and relaxing environment.
